  1. Practice mindfulness. Living in the moment is the first, and one of the most important, values of a holistic lifestyle. Try to make the best of all situations you find yourself in, good and bad.
  2. Recognize and respect your body’s power. Take care of your body. It’s as simple as that. As many of our last few articles will tell you, taking care of yourself and your well-being will help you in every aspect of your life. Use your body’s power to your advantage.
  3. Eat clean. It should go without saying that eating cleaner is one of the first steps towards a holistic lifestyle. Transitioning your mind set to see food as fuel, instead of just to tame your appetite is the best way to make healthier choices. Instead of quickly grabbing a burger, try making your meals at home.
  4. Focus on positive relationships. Sometimes things just don’t work out and you’re stuck in a loop of negativity. Being angry and negative only leads to stress and difficulties. In the end, if someone negative simply doesn’t fit into your life anymore, move on.
  5. Recycle energy. Don’t push yourself too hard. There’s no reason to do that. Of course, life happens and you are in a rush to get things don, but try to bring those moments to a minimum.
  6. Let yourself grow. Often we stress and worry about aspects of life and cannot focus on one subject. If you want to grasp a holistic life, you will have to go through a period of changes. Modify your life and character on step at a time. Take the time to focus and grow.
  7. Love life. It is a constant rollercoaster. Some days you’re up and some you’re down. This is life! You can’t let it affect how you feel about yourself. Find the silver living in every situation. With this in mind, remember to respect others, as well. You never know what battles a person could be going through.
  8. Get in touch with those who are on the same page as you. Living your new, holistic lifestyle will come easier when you surround yourself with those whom have already chosen this path.
  9. Be aware. Observe and research your surroundings. When life throws you the curveballs you aren’t ready for, it can be a disaster if you aren’t aware. Make the best out of bad situations and always see them as a chance to learn.
  10. As we talked about on the blog earlier (hyperlink to our meditate post), the art of mindful meditation has become increasing popular. Carve out time everyday—30 minutes should be enough—to sit down, relax, and focus on your breathing.
  11. We understand this is easier said than done with a 9 to 5 job, but sitting in a chair all day can damaging to your body. Take a walk on your lunch break, or—if you have the energy after work— go for a job or a hike. You will feel great about yourself afterwards.
